Developer Prologis has gained outline planning permission for a new £150 million logistics park at Appleby Lodge in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
The site will provide 2 million sq ft of employment space and has the potential to create up to 2,500 jobs.
Appleby Lodge, which will be developed in phases, will offer a range of large format, energy-efficient facilities. All new buildings will be designed and constructed to achieve a minimum BREEAM 2011 ‘Very Good’ accreditation and the best possible EPC rating for their size.
Prologis is now working on detailed design and technical proposals for the reserved matters planning applications that will be submitted shortly to the Borough Council of Wellingborough.
“There is a shortage of Grade A logistics accommodation in the East Midlands, so it is very good news that the Council has granted planning permission for Appleby Lodge,” said James Wright, vice president at Prologis. “We are progressing the technical work so that we can deliver the site to meet customer requirements and we will start marketing the first phase of the development soon.”
