UK roads are getting more congested, according to The Department for Transport’s recently released Road traffic estimates for Great Britain: quarter 2 2013.
Comparing quarter two 2013, from April to June, with the same quarter last year, the release showed all motor vehicle traffic has increased by 2.9 per cent.
It also revealed that heavy goods vehicle traffic increases by 1.7 per cent. Car traffic was up by 2.3 per cent, and light goods vehicle traffic by 6.1 per cent..
Traffic volumes have increased on all road types according to the report, with motorways showing an increase of 4.9 per cent, and minor roads 3.6 per cent.
