Bedfords Group is planning to offer pan-European services after its application for an international licence was accepted.
The operator said it had seen a rising requirement for a pan-European service, to satisfy the demands of an increasingly diverse and prolific client base.
Bedfords is a member of the Palletforce network, giving it access to continental markets. It recently acquired LinQ Alliance, and is therefore directly connected with other hauliers throughout Europe.
Managing director, Steff Pfadenhauer said: “We are now duty-bound to deliver high quality service across Europe, which we will do gladly if it benefits our customers.”
