Tesco has been granted planning permission by the Vale of White Horse District Council, for a new dot-com warehouse in Milton Hill, near Didcot.
Located on part of the former Esso Research Centre, the site covers approximately 3.12 ha and joins the A313 to the east, and Featherbed Lane to the West.
The proposal was for a home delivery distribution centre, serving the supermarket’s online food orders throughout Oxfordshire.
Tesco said it would operate 24/7 and employ around 750 staff over three shifts.
A spokesperson said: “’We are pleased that our plans for a new dot-com centre at Milton Hill have been given the go-ahead by the Council.
“Online shopping is proving increasingly popular, and this new centre will enable us to maintain and improve our service to customers in Oxfordshire and the surrounding area.”
The site will have a floor area of 11,458 sq m and around 481 parking spaces, 260 for staff and 221 for vans.
