AkzoNobel, whose brands include Dulux and Hammerite, has chosen David Allen to take on the role of head of integrated supply chain.
He joins from China National Bluestar Group, where he has been chief operating officer since 2009, and will officially take up the position on 1st October reporting to CEO Ton Büchner.

“His broad experience in our industries combined with his strong track record in improving operational performance will be a valuable addition to our team as we continue to take our strategy forward.”
Prior to joining Bluestar Allen worked for General Electric Company and Sabic in various operations, manufacturing and logistics roles.

The Amsterdam-based company has been implementing a performance improvement programme since October 2011. At the time it said that some 40 per cent of the savings would come from supply chain and sourcing programmes.
In its results for the second quarter of 2013, the company said cumulative savings had now reached €381m.
