The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has invested €30 million (£25.6 million) in its new White Fleet (non-combat vehicle fleet) in Germany, to be provided by Ryder as part of a four-year contract.
The contract will see Ryder supply the MOD with a range of vehicles, including HGVs, minibuses, and cars, and has the potential of a 12-month extension.
The MOD said the new deal will reflect its planned troop reduction in Germany.
As part of the contract, Ryder will offer full fleet management and services such as the provision of vehicles, maintenance, breakdown and incident management, as well as short term hire.
“This new contract will continue our 25 year relationship with the MOD in Germany and further supports our long history of supplying vehicles to the public sector, said David Hunt, Ryder’s vice president and managing director, Europe.
“We are fully conversant with MOD transport requirements and regulations, and this new agreement enables us to provide a comprehensive range of high specification and fuel-efficient vehicles that will continue to support the MOD’s operational requirements in Germany.”
