Hermes Parcelnet has signed a ten-year lease on the Co-operative Estates’ former Somerfield regional distribution centre in Somerset.
Located at Huntworth Business Park, in Bridgwater, the 43,000 sq ft property will be leased to Hermes for £210,000 a year.
“We are expecting to handle a 15 per cent increase in parcel volumes during 2013, so it is critical that we have the necessary infrastructure and resources in place, especially during the forthcoming peak trading period, said Gary Winter, sales & marketing director at Hermes.
“The growth in online shopping combined with increasing expectations from the consumer means it is essential to provide a quality and hassle-free delivery service at all times to meet the precise need of our retail clients.”
