Oracle has launched the latest version of its database, 12c, has an optional “In memory” feature that can be simply switched on at any time, including a new logistics command centre.
Karen Clark, vice president applications, said: “The in memory apps for 12c can provide functionality that just wasn’t possible before.”
She explained that all aspects of the new system have been improved along three principles.
New analytics have offer improved leveraging of data; a social focus has developed easier lines for communications both internally and with outside businesses; and mobile offerings allow increased agility and an extended range for business processes.
The database is dubbed 12c which signifies that most of the updates are powered by cloud technology.
The new version of the software has also been designed with improved security governance, so that it is easier for enterprises to manage and report on access.
