European specialist distributor of hand and power tools, Toolbank, has awarded Norbert Dentressangle a four-year contract, to handle the company’s UK distribution via Norbert’s Red Inside solution.
With more than 25,000 products, Toolbank supplies 250 brands, which include Black & Decker and DeWALT.
The deal will see Dentressangle’s Red Inside transport operation collect goods from two national distribution centres in the Midlands, before distributing them at night to 11 Toolbank branches nationwide.
Norbert will also take charge of Toolbank’s Christmas peak warehousing and delivery requirements, as part of a separate deal.
* Dentressangle has seen a 30 per cent reduction in the amount of space available within its UK shared-user network in the run-up to Christmas.
“We have seen a dramatic reduction in the amount of available space in our network in recent months and are optimistic that this could be indicative of an improvement in the economic conditions,” said business development director Martin Palmer.
