PCL Transport has added 100 temperature controlled Carrier Transicold units to its fleet, to serve its milk delivery contract with Arla Foods.
Hoddeson-based PCL transports enough milk on behalf of Arla Foods to fill 61 million cups of tea in the UK each week.
The company’s latest order includes 60 Vector 1550 City units, which Carrier Transicold says can operate at a noise level below 60 decibels.
“The Vector 1550 City units allow us to minimise the risk of noise disturbance on routes where we deliver to urban and residential area,” said director of fleet and compliance at PCL, Shaun Stephenson.
“Plus, we work on behalf of one of the largest dairies in Europe so maintaining accurate temperature integrity is absolutely essential.”
