The new Port to Shelf exhibition has been branded a success attracting high calibre visitors, following its launch last week when it was co-located with the Logistics Link North exhibition for the first time.
“One of the things which makes Logistics Link North and Port to Shelf stand out as an exhibition is the quality of our audience and we are delighted that we were able to bring together our event partners and exhibitors with senior decision makers, bringing about valuable discussions of a level which is rare at other events,” said organiser Dan Stone, head of events & marketing at Akabo Media.
The event took place over two days at Doncaster Racecourse and was free to enter.
The exhibition saw Hyster take the opportunity to talk about its ship-to-shore-to-shop-floor concept.
Sales manager, big trucks, at Hyster, Ing Chris van de Werdt, said: “We don’t just sell products, we sell services, from the containers, to the warehouse and everything in between.”
Van de Werdt also took to the stage to deliver a seminar on Hyster’s partnership with Briggs Equipment UK.
“We chose to work with Briggs in the UK because not only do they deliver the service we require, but they don’t limit themselves to just lift trucks, they work on everything from roller-doors to dock-levels,” he said.
“With Briggs, we can work on meeting all customers’ requirements, tweaking machines when needed.”
Apex Linvar was also present to display its full range of products, with regional sales manager, Ian Child, saying: “the primary reason for us being here is to show the market that we offer various storage solutions and not just the traditional racking and shelving.”
Other exhibitors included AIDC Solutions, which launched its new warehouse management system, AIDC-WHM.
Now fully RFID-enabled, operations director, David Myers, said the new system delivers the best of both worlds.
“Our latest WMS is fully customised and built in-line with the user’s business rules, processes and priorities, but comes at an off-the-shelf price,” he said.
Industrial flooring specialist, GRF, and mobile solutions provider Spectralink both took the opportunity to meet new customers.
Other exhibitors included leading names such as BS Handling Systems, inotec Barcode Security, Linkx Packaging Systems, and Flexi Narrow Aisle.
