Link 51 has launched a trackless mobile shelving system which it reckons could transform high density storage.
The design removes the need for the usual fixed tracks, ensuring unobstructed aisles and easy access for trolleys or steps, as well as removing trip hazards for pedestrian users.
The system uses a single guide rail attached to the floor along the wall to keep the shelving unit aligned, which means the floor can be reinstated with minimum effort if the shelving needs to be relocated.
Customers can choose from manual or mechanical operation and an electrically powered drive system will be available in due course.
