Gefco has opened a subsidiary in Zagreb, Croatia to strengthen its overland and maritime transport operations in the Balkan Peninsula.
Croatian Tihomir Skrtic, was appointed managing director of Gefco Croatia, having previously been business development manager of the firm’s Slovenian subsidiary.
“A business location in Croatia, one of the fastest growing economies in South-Eastern Europe, will help GEFCO strengthen its presence in these markets and give local and international companies easier access to the Group’s high value added services,” said Skrtic.
Gefco has chosen Croatia as it joined the EU in July, and it has three transport corridors connecting with Western Europe, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean Sea.
