The Freight Transport Association has called on the European Commission to support the newly proposed verification of container weights, in order to avoid duplication and confusion.
The association has been working with the Global Shippers’ Forum, the IMO, and other industry stakeholders, to agree a new verification for container weighing.
It said the new policy will address the problem of misdeclaration of containers, while enhancing safety standards of EU roads.
