Rob Brown has joined Gefco UK to lead its Air and Sea freight (Overseas) division with the task of extending the business into new markets.
The move follows the 2012 acquisition of Gefco by Russian Railways, which opens up opportunities to develop its overseas rail products.
A new route established through Kazakhstan allows flows to bypass the Trans-Siberian railway, meaning that a total transit time from China to Germany is 15 days – allowing Gefco to offer great value and flexibility to customers.
Tristan Balayn, managing director of Gefco UK said: “Rob brings fifteen years of experience to this role and is perfectly placed to drive new business and the organic growth of existing Overseas work.”
