Audio specialist Sennheiser UK has awarded arvato UK & Ireland a three-year contract to distribute consumer and professional audio equipment to UK customers.
Sennheiser has relocated its UK supply chain operations to arvato’s 220,000 sq ft Hams Hall facility, in Birmingham, as part of the deal.
It says the move will generate savings of up to 50 per cent on its distribution costs, by gaining access to arvato’s established relationships with a range of carriers.
arvato will handle some 7,000 orders each year from the site, as well as provide product-kitting services and an emergency courier solution for the live event market.
“This new strategic partnership with arvato will ensure our UK distribution activities are in safe hands while we focus on sales and marketing activities,” said David Brinsden, director of finance and operations at Sennheiser UK.
“arvato’s expertise and the team’s flexibility has enabled us to make a significant operational change without any disruption to our customers.”
The contract includes distribution for brands for which Sennheiser currently acts as UK distributor.
