The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport has awarded academic partner status to the University of Lincoln, in recognition of the its ability to meet the educational needs of the specialised logistics sector.
The new venture will see Lincoln students given access to the international CILT Knowledge Centre, a specialist library of transport and logistics publications, periodicals, and research papers.
They will also benefit from invites to national events, opportunities to publish academic papers, and the support of a CILT regional officer.
“High-level logistics courses like those taught here in Lincoln are vital for ensuring that the industry continues to meet the needs of society,” said chief executive officer of the CILT, Steve Agg.
The announcement follows the CILT accreditation of Lincoln’s undergraduate and postgraduate Logistics Management programmes, and the Defence Logistics Staff Course.
