UK grower, packer, and distributor of salads, Vitacress, has awarded Ryder a five-year contract hire deal, to replace its entire fleet, hoping to improve environmental performance.
Hampshire-based Vitacress’ vehicles cover some 2.5 million miles a year, distributing to farms, packing centres, distribution centre, and airports throughout the UK.
Ryder will now supply a total of 29 trucks and five new trailers to Vitacress, including ten 44-tonne Mercedes and 14 38-tonne DAF tractors, as well as three 26-tonne DAF trucks.
The deal has also seen Vitacress sell its former fleet of 28 fridge trailers to Ryder, to lease them back.
