The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has awarded DB Schenker a four-year contract renewal, to provide logistics, freight forwarding, and customs clearance services throughout the 2014 Sochi and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games.
The IPC is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. It co-ordinates the organisation of both the summer and winter Paralympic Games.
DB Schenker has been working with the German-based organisation since 2004, and will also offer its services at other key IPC events, as part of the new deal.
“While thousands of athletes are already training hard for the Paralympic Games in Sochi 2014, our logistics preparations are also in full swing, making sure that the IPC will reach their goals,” said member of the board of management, responsible for air and ocean freight, at Schenker, Heiner Murmann.
