Imperial Health Sciences (IHS) has teamed up with Yusen Logistics, to launch a dedicated temperature controlled sea freight consolidation service for medicines to southern Africa.
The weekly service will be introduced in January 2014, with services to East and West Africa due to begin later in the year.
It will see collections made throughout Europe via Yusen’s Superhighway network, before being received at the company’s European pharmaceutical hub in Antwerp, Belgium.
They will then be shipped from the Port of Antwerp, directly to Cape Town, where they will be offloaded at IHS’ local warehouse.
