Yodel has opened a new 50,000 sq ft service centre on the Burnt Mills Industrial Estate, in Basildon, Essex, adding to its estate of more than 60 UK locations.
The permanent site will cater for 70 van drivers, and 54 office and warehouse staff, who are expected to handle around 14,500 parcels a day, in the run-up to Christmas.
It has a drive-through briefing area, which Yodel says will enable drivers to receive their daily instructions without leaving their vehicle, new trailer bays, and a one-way yard system.
