Global construction materials supply company, RMD Kwikform, has awarded Briggs Equipment a £1 million contract to supply 22 new Yale forklifts, as well as a contract extension on 11 used vehicles.
With operations in 15 countries, RMD Kwikform offers tailored formwork, falsework and shoring solutions to the global building industry.
The new Yale GDP 3-tonne VX vehicles are scheduled to be delivered over the next four months, where RMD will take delivery of them across five of its UK sites.
They will operate both inside and outside of its warehouses.
Briggs said features included in its offering are LED lights to “last the life of the agreement”, heavy duty transmission to reduce tyre ware, and finger tip controls to both ease the operation and reduce operator fatigue.
The contract will also see Briggs provide full service and maintenance, including the replacement of tyres and forks.
“We believe that this contract not only provides us with the best value in terms of lifetime costs but also makes major inroads towards achieving our sustainability targets by selecting new eco-engine Yale forklifts,” said UK managing director at RMD Kwikform, Mike Follett.
The entire fleet has been fitted with Briggs’ Speedshield asset management tool, to ensure pre-shift checks and driver behaviour monitoring.
“The Speedshield devices fitted to these machines will enable them to be automatically turned off when not in use saving even more fuel which in turn further reduces our carbon footprint,” added Follett.
“This proves that going green doesn’t cost the earth or even money; but can save both.”
