Forbo Flooring UK has awarded Norbert Dentressangle a three-year storage and distribution contract renewal in the UK.
Global provider of commercial floor coverings, Forbo, manufactures a range of products at five UK sites in Kirkcaldy, Bamber Bridge, Cortonwood, Ripley and Telford.
The company has worked with Norbert since 1997, when Norbert took responsibility for all storage and distribution of products from Forbo’s Kirkcaldy and Bamber Bridge facilities, as well as its seven European manufacturing plants.
The new deal will see Norbert also take charge of the collection and consolidation of products around Forbo’s additional UK sites.
The logistics provider will offer some 90,000 sq ft of space to Forbo at its shared-user facility in Warrington, from which it will operate a dedicated fleet of six vehicles.
Norbert said the vehicles will carry 400 tonnes of product and make around 800 deliveries a week.
The company will also invest in a new vehicle fleet as part of the new deal, hoping to enhance safety and productivity in the distribution operation.
