Anglo-Italian helicopter company AgustaWestland has renewed its logistics contract with Norbert Dentressangle for a further three years, for the delivery of helicopter parts around the UK.
With revenue of some €4.2 billion (£3.5 billion), AgustaWestland serves both military and commercial operators in the vertical lift market. It has more than 13,000 employees worldwide, with facilities in Italy, UK, USA, and Poland.
The company’s Somerset-based UK operation has been working with Norbert since 2001, in a deal which sees the logistics provider transport a range of helicopter parts.
The deal also sees Norbert provide a dedicated Specialist Services team at the Somerset site, in Yeovil, as well as at AgustaWestland’s key customer site, the Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, in Helston, Cornwall, to manage deliveries.
Norbert’s Specialist Services network offers a same-day service in the UK, for helicopter breakdown repairs, and delivery and collection for a number of parts.
“The relationship we have developed with Norbert Dentressangle over the last 12 years ensures we can work closely together to cost effectively manage volume spikes and support special requests,” said an AgustaWestland spokesperson.
“In both the commercial and military sectors, the reactive same-day service for repair parts to any helicopter in the UK is a key part of the solution Norbert Dentressangle provides.”
