David Hallam has been named as the Co-operative Food’s driver of the year at the company’s annual competition, which it says recognises those who go the extra mile to improve store service and efficiency.
Hosted by Scania, this year’s event saw 12 drivers take part in the grand final at Bruntingthorpe’s test track in Leicestershire.
It was originally open to more than 1,200 drivers employed by the Co-operative Food’s distribution operation.
The finalists had to complete a series of practical and theory tests, including vehicle manoeuvring, distance judging, and identifying vehicle defects.
Hallam won both the trophy, and a VIP trip to Scania’s headquarters in Sweden.
