arvato Healthcare has entered a partnership with Swiss pre-wholesale company, Voigt Industrie Service, to offer its customers an integrated solution for the final-mile delivery of medication in Switzerland.
Voigt has two healthcare sites in the country, which have dedicated areas for anaesthetics and cytostatics, as well as temperature-controlled areas ranging from 15 to 25 °C and 2 to 8 °C.
The new venture comes as arvato announced plans to expand its European network for its international customers, “according to the requirements of modern supply chain concepts, while offering healthcare companies an even broader portfolio”.
It hopes to offer final-mile delivery to Swiss hospitals and pharmacies, from Voigt’s Niederbipp warehouse, close to Bern.
Due to legal regulations in the country, final-mile healthcare deliveries there can only be supplied from a warehouse within or close to the Swiss borders.
