Oil and gas logistics specialist Lubbers Transport Group, has invested £1.2 million in a new facility in Aberdeen, as part of its plans to double the size of its operations there.
LTG services the offshore oil and gas industry in the North Sea. It said the investment comes as it expects to grow its market share in the transport and logistics sector there.
The company has acquired and will develop the site, adjacent to its premises at its main UK hub, in Peterseat Drive, which offers links to locations such as Newcastle and Great Yarmouth.
It said the new facility will house a larger fleet of trucks, and enable the company to process more cargo.
It will provide an additional 4,000m of yard space, and double the size of the office to 280 sq m.
“Our close proximity to Aberdeen Harbour and to many of the significant players in the North Sea is a major asset and this investment shows our commitment to the area and energy sector,” said managing director of RTH Lubbers, the UK arm of the business, Tony Tailford.
“It should ensure we are in the strongest position to continue this year’s success into 2014, enabling us to continue delivering a strong service to our customers.”
