Electrical and houseware distributor RKW has bought the 240,000 sq ft former Royal Doulton and Wedgwood warehouse facility in Staffordshire as a new global fulfilment centre.
It is investing £2 million in the warehouse and expects it to be operational by the Spring.
Managing Director Rob Sutton said the move had been fuelled in part by the rise in online retailing and growth in the business.
The former Royal Doulton and Wedgwood warehouse, known as Granite on Jasper Way, Stone Business Park, was vacated in 2009. It has 11m eaves, 23 dock and 3 level access doors as well as a 50m deep service yard. It has 9,737 sq ft of office space as well as a secure yard with gatehouse.
Property agents acting for the seller were Edward Symmons and CBRE.
