TNT Express has completed a £4.3 million expansion on its Park Royal depot, near Wembley, which it says has increased capacity by more than 50 per cent.
The expansion comes as part of TNT Express’ global Deliver! programme, which hopes to introduce infrastructure and customer service improvements throughout the company.
The site previously handled some 40,000 items a week on behalf of businesses around London.
Having installed 15 extra loading bays and more than 1,200 sq m of warehouse and vehicle yard space, TNT says the facility will now both operate more efficiently and process customers’ consignments more quickly.
“This expansion demonstrates our on-going commitment to investing in our infrastructure to deliver direct benefits to our customers via more flexible, responsive and efficient services,” said managing director at TNT Express UK& Ireland, Alistair Cochrane.
“With more regional services routed to the depot the overall carbon footprint of TNT Express’ fleet will also be reduced.”
