Paul Brooks has been named managing director of the newly formed BiS Henderson Academy, joining from his role as board director at Unipart Logistics.
BiS Henderson created the Academy to support organisations in developing their future talent, and inspire young people to work within the logistics industry.
It offers students tailored pre-employment and career development programmes, as well as access to higher education qualifications through apprenticeships.
Brooks will now lead the development of the Academy, hoping to create a gateway into the logistics and supply chain industry for young talent.
He joins from Unipart, where he was board director with responsibility of global sales. He is also chairman of Skills for Logistics, as well as president-elect of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.
“I have been really impressed with the quality of BiS Henderson’s business approach and believe that the opportunity to create a world class Academy for apprenticeships has come at exactly the right time,” Brooks said.
“In a rapidly changing, technology dependent industry, those seeking a fast paced career in the sector will need the skills to back up their ambitions.”
