Industry professionals from Bibby and City Sprint have joined a number of other industry heads to establish the content of the University of London Metropolitan’s new Honours degree in Logistics.
Members of senior management from Royal Mail, TNT, UK Mail, GLH& Point to Point, City Link, and Swift were also involved in the decision making.
The Institute of Couriers brought the group together, to establish what would really make an employer give the next generation a job.
“London Met Uni have made a commitment to work with us to develop an undergraduate logistics programme whose content is defined by this group of senior employers,” said John Bowman, Skills for Logistics.
“Thisis a real opportunity to create a programme that is both attractive to the brightest of students and brings confident, knowledgeable graduates into your companies.”
The new undergraduates and post graduates will start the course in October 2014.
