Skills for Logistics has teamed up with the Scottish Qualification Authority, Skills Development Scotland, and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, to develop both a SVQ Level 3 in Procurement, and an Apprenticeship Framework there.
The move comes as Scotland works on raising the awareness of procurement in schools, to encourage young people into the profession.
All organisations will continue to consult on the structure and content of the SVQ Level 3 and Modern Apprenticeship Framework, until 7 February.
The consultation period will include the views of a range of private and public sector employers, as well as trade bodies and other organisations.
