The council proposes a fulfilment centre on the existing MoD Donnington site which will comprise two warehouses of 675,000 sq and 200,000 sq ft as well as a three storey 30,000 sq ft office building while the second planning application on land adjacent MoD Donnington envisages a 280,000 sq ft warehouse facility.
The applications, which will go in front of the planning committee in March this year, are for the maximum requirement that the MoD would haven order to give them greater flexibility.
The MoD is likely to make its decision on where its logistics operation is based later this year.
A council spokesperson said: “A fundamental part of the decision making process will be the ability of the council to prove through the planning applications that Donnington can accommodate the full requirements of the MoD going forward.”
