Quality Freight UK has transported a number of key parts being used for the development of Alstom’s£500 million gas-fired power station.
The new power station is currently under construction in Trafford, and is due for completion in early 2016. It aims to generate sufficient electricity, to be able to supply the needs of around a million UKhomes.
Quality Freight shipped a number of giant modules into the docks of Ellesmere Port, in Cheshire, which were then transferred to barges for onward delivery via the Manchester Ship Canal to the site.
The companywill also be handling a number of other shipments over the coming weeks, including the power station’s giant turbines.
