Hermes is launching a Sunday delivery service, in a bid to become the UK’s first consumer delivery company to offer its retail customers a complete seven-day solution.
The new tracked service will initially be available as a next-day service, meaning customers will be able to order all day Saturday for Sunday delivery.
Hermes hopes it will provide added convenience and choice for customers.
Chief executive Carole Woodhead, said: “The Sunday service quite simply fits around people’s increasingly busy lifestyles and is often a day they can guarantee being at home.
“As a result we believe our new Sunday service will increase the first time delivery success rate and overall customer satisfaction.”
The move comes as part of Hermes’ plan to offer its retail clients a competitive edge.
The company has recently opened a new £6 million call centre in Leeds as part of the plan, and is focusing on expanding its myHermesParcelShop network from 3,500 to 5,000 in 2014.
