Martin Reid has been named director for Scotland and Northern Ireland at the Road Haulage Association, replacing Phil Flanders who retired in late 2013.
Reid joins RHA from SELECT, a trade association for the electrical industry in Scotland, where he was responsible for some 1,250 member companies of various sizes.
Martin will be a real asset to the RHA in Scotland and Northern Ireland. He welcomes the challenge of ensuring that the voice of the membership is heard in the corridors of power, and as such is given the best opportunity to prosper in the market place, said RHA acting chief executive, Nick Payne.
Geraldine Quinn has also been appointed area manager for Northern Ireland at the association, in a bid to increase support and commitment to its members in the area.
