Mike Parsons has been appointed director of operations and supply chain at Mizkan Europe, as part of its commitment to expand its British brands, which include Branston Pickle, Sarson’s Vinegar, and Haywards Pickles.
Parsons joins the business from Weetabix, where he ran four operating sites around the UK, before which he spent 17 years in senior roles at Heinz.
Mizkan is a privately-owned Japanese company known for its Sushi vinegar. It bought the brands from Premier Foods as part of its growth strategy.
Other appointments include Suzanne Dover, who has been named head of new product development at the company, while Kate Charman and KuniakiTsukada will manage the Haywards and Sarson’s brand portfolios respectively.
Bruce Lambourne has also been appointed head of technical, for which he will handle Mizkan Europe’s manufacturing process.
“Through these appointments, we’ll not only be able to grow the sales of our British brands, but we’ll also breathe new life into our offering as a whole, through an earnest expansion of our product development and technical expertise,” said managing director, Paul Shanahan.
