Omega (Warrington) Ltd a joint venture between Miller Group and Royal Bank of Scotland, has submitted plans to create a further 2.1 million sq ft of manufacturing and warehouse space at its Omega scheme near Warrington in the North West.
The proposals follow shortly after Warrington Council agreed to loan the developer £7.5 million to fund a new road and infrastructure works opening up the Omega South site that will connect directly to Junction 8 of the M62 motorway.
Outline plans for Zone 7 which totals 190 acres envision six development plots with buildings from 245,977 sq ft to 331,814 sq ft. The buildings will be run 24/7. Usage will be split 30 per cent general industrial and 70 per cent logistics. It is expected that development will take place within a four to five year basis and all buildings will be built to BREEAM Very Good as a minimum.
