Scotland-based transport company Pollock Scotrans has acquired the entire share capital of Lancashire-based Gilbraith (TS), for an undisclosed seven figure sum.
Transport and warehousing company Gilbraith has been operating for nearly 100 years. It offers a range of logistics solutions from its base in Blackburn, Lancashire.
Pollock says the facility has the capability of handling traditional rail freight, via its extensive rail connections in the North West.
“Acquiring Gilbraith is a strategic acquisition which allows Pollock to have two transport hubs- one in Bathgate, Scotland, and the other in Blackburn. There will be great synergies between both operations,” said joint managing directors at Pollock, Scott Pollock and Fraser Pollock.
Four of Pollock’s directors will join Gilbraith’s management board as part of the deal.
