Maxell Europe has awarded DB Schenker a three-year contract extension, for which it operates as Maxell’s logistics service provider throughout the continent.
With more than 50 years of experience in producing recordable media and energy products, Maxell also offers power supplies and digital recording for mobile and multi-media devices. Its products include re-writable DVDs, optical discs, and SD memory cards, for laptops, phones, and PDAs.
The new deal will see DB Schenker continue to handle the company’s European distribution, to and from both its European distribution centre in The Netherlands, and its distribution centre in Hungary, which serves the Eastern European market.
The two companies started working together in 2011, in a bid to optimise Maxell’s European supply chain operations.
DB Schenker has since minimised the number of Maxell’s warehouses in Europe, from four to two.
Maxell now hopes the new deal will continue to optimise its supply chain, while reducing logistics costs.
