The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has awarded Unipart Group’s UTL division a three-year fulfilment contract renewal, for which it will continue to handle all of the charity’s e-retail, trade, and retail logistics.
The RSPB sells a range of products through its web site, mail-order catalogue, 23 UK shops, supermarkets, garden centres and other selected outlets, in order to fund its conservation efforts.
UTL specialises in the telecoms, media, and consumer sectors. The company has been working with RSPB since their original agreement began in 2009.
It will now continue to handle RSPB’s fulfilment from its shared user efulfilment hub in Weedon, Northamptonshire.
“The RSPB’s trading operation raises over £3 million profit a year for the charity’s conservation work, so it’s vital that we offer our supporters and customers a first class service with a ‘same-day dispatch’ on orders placed on the web site, with cost effective deliveries and to our required high quality and environmental standards,” said RSPB’s fulfilment manager, Roy Roddy.
“UTL continues to demonstrate that they can help us deliver an excellent customer experience.”
*Unipart Logistics has teamed up with automated RFID asset tracking and sensor solutions specialist, RF Code, to launch an advanced Active RFID-enabled solution in the global supply chain marketplace.
“We are delighted to form this strategic alliance with RF Code; it extends the capabilities of the Unipart Group, giving our clients and customers access to advanced asset tracking and management technology to provide real-time finger-tip control of complex supply chains,” said automotive director at Unipart Logistics, Richard Hankinson.
