Frozen food specialist Farmfoods is to open a 175,000 sq ft temperature controlled distribution centre at Central Park in Severnside, Bristol.
The DC will be built by Roxhill, as a design and build freehold project with completion towards the end of 2014.
Farmfoods has its roots in the distribution and handling of frozen food. It originated in Aberdeen in 1955 and has around 300 shops throughout Great Britain. It will be the second logistics occupier at the 600 acre Central Park. CHEP UK, the pallet specialist, has a site on the park.
Charles Blake, director at Roxhill said: “Central Park is quickly establishing itself as one of the UK’s premier distribution hubs. Delta Properties has invested heavily in the park’s infrastructure and, combined with Roxhill’s ability to deliver fast track buildings under a unique B8 planning permission, this puts Central Park at the forefront of the regional market.“
A new rail freight terminal at the park is due to become operational in early 2016.
