Ian Veitch has been promoted from managing director UK to managing director Europe at Yusen Logistics. He takes over the new role from next month.
Veitch joined NYK in 1994, where he held the role of managing director of its UK subsidiary, UCI Logistics. He then became chief executive of NYK’s merged UK logistics businesses in 2005.
In 2011 NYK merged with Yusen Air & Sea, to form today’s Yusen Logistics UK, where Veitch began his role as managing director.
He will now be based at Yusen’s European headquarters in Amsterdam, and also take up the position of chief regional officer Europe, becoming the first non-Japanese executive officer at Yusen Logistics Co. Ltd.
Veitch is president of the UK Freight Transport Association, and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
