Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances has awarded a contract to Roadways Container Logistics to manage shipments directly to clients including John Lewis and Curry’s; as well as undertaking a “drop and swap” operation from UK ports to BSH’s Kettering distribution centre.
Logistics operations manager Paul Shanks said: “We are delighted to be working with Roadways and the contract has got off to a great start in terms of meeting our agreed delivery targets, as well as from a customer service standpoint.”
BSH Home Appliances Group is the largest manufacturer of home appliances in Europe and includes home appliance brands such as Bosch, Neff, Siemens and Gaggenau.
Roadways general manager Marc Wynne said: “Currently we’re managing an average of 75 containers a week for BSH Home Appliances, with the ‘drop and swap’ element enabling us to maximise use of our resources at times when they are not fully deployed.”
