Dachser has officially opened its integrated logistics centre in Northampton. The new facility occupies a 7.4 hectare site and represents an investment of €26m.
Bernhard Simon, CEO of Dachser, said: “With this new logistics centre, we will satisfy the demands for global integrated supply chains. We are continuing our growth. Over the long term, we can enlarge the new transit terminal when we identify new potential.”
The new facility houses the logistics centre for the Northampton branch as well as the UK Head Office. It comprises a 5,948 sq m transit terminal, a 10,560 sq m contract logistics warehouse which can accommodate up to 20,000 racked pallet positions, and a 1,954 sq m two-storey office building.
