Rehau which makes PVC-U window and door profiles, has awarded Ceva Logistics a five year contract to manage its 130,000 sq ft warehouse at Manor Point in Runcorn.
Ceva will also provide dedicated road transport as part of the multi-million pound contract. New vehicles have also been procured for the transport operation in Rehau’s new livery.
The warehouse operates 24 hours a day, five days a week with a team of more than 50. There are currently 830 different products held in stock with 2,750 different variants. On average, 700 picks are carried out per day. The warehouse has an eaves height of 12 metres to accommodate the volume of stock and has seven dock level loading doors and four drive-in doors .
Rehau UK chief executive Martin Hitchin said: “Ceva and Rehau share a common appreciation of continuous improvement and partnerships. We are therefore delighted to partner with Ceva – who are already delivering high quality supply chain management expertise to our operations.”
Ian Robb, CEVA’s vice president of automotive, industrial and technology in the UK, said: “We have engineered our solution to support REHAU’s growth plans, and the partnership approach we have with our customers means that our management team is fully aligned to support such plans.”
