John Hayes has been appointed minister of state at the Department for Transport in David Cameron’s ministerial reshuffle.
The reshuffle saw Stephen Hammond, who was parliamentary under secretary of state for transport, leave the government.
Hayes has been the Conservative MP for South Holland and The Deepings since 1997.
For the past year he has been minister without portfolio. Before that he was minister of state for energy at the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
