Demand for prime industrial space in the UK has increased, with take-up of grade A buildings hitting record levels over the last six months, according to the latest figures from DTZ.
In the first half of 2014, take-up of industrial space reached a total of 15.9 million sq. ft. with logistics warehouses and retail distribution centres making up a proportion of this, this is the highest six-month take-up figure on record.
However the logistics sector contribution dropped to 20.1 per cent of take-up during the period. Requirements in the logistics sector, led by logistics and parcel companies, have in part been satisfied for now although growth is expected to resume in due course.
