Wiggle has leased a 323,000 sq ft warehouse at Citadel Logistics Centre in Wolverhampton from Goodman as part of a move to consolidate operations and enable growth.
The move by the online retailer of running, swimming and cycling products, which serves more than one million customers across 70 companies, follows two years of record breaking sales and revenue growth.
Nicholas Pink, operations and programme director of Wiggle, said: “The move demonstrates Wiggle’s continuous growth and ambition. We believe the location and space of the new warehouse will provide a competitive advantage as we scale up our operations in the UK and overseas.”
As a result of the lease, Wiggle will be moving operations from 95,000 sq ft of distribution space across several sites in Portsmouth, where the firm was founded. There has been speculation from the the local newspaper, the Portsmouth News, that up to 100 staff are facing relocation or redundancy.
“Whilst it will be sad to leave Portsmouth, our Head Office and other functions will remain and develop in Portsmouth,” added Pink

The centre is situated 10 miles from junction 10 of the M6 and six miles from junction 1 of the M5.
Charles Crossland, managing director of Goodman UK Logistics, said: “This deal also highlights the demand for quality logistics space in this part of the UK, with strong customer take-up reflecting the diminishing supply of prime, well located facilities, such as Citadel.”
Knight Frank, JLL and Bulleys are agents on Citadel. Tony Lewis Surveyors acted on behalf of Wiggle.
