A number of logistics firms are collaborating in the development of apprenticeship standards for a supply chain specialist LGV driver, supply chain specialist warehouse operative, and a supply chain operative, as part of a government incentive to design new apprenticeship schemes.
The government’s Trailblazer initiative has grouped together 700 employers from 37 sectors to help design 76 new apprenticeship schemes.
The Logistics and Supply Chain Trailblazer group is chaired by Colin Snape of Nagel Langdons. Among the companies representing the logistics sector is Kuehne + Nagel, DHL, Arla Foods, Wincanton, John Lewis, and Norbert Dentressangle.
Skills minister Nick Boles congratulated the firms involved in the scheme.
